The story revolves around a joint family headed by Mian Ji, who lives with his wife Zaitoon Bano, his three sons and their families, and his unmarried daughter Zoya. The family is concerned about Zoya's marriage. When Aqdus, the son of Hajira's friend, comes to stay with the family, he falls in love with Zoya. His decision to ask for her hand in marriage creates unexpected tension within the family.
